Privacy Policy

East Africa Safaris is a tour company based in Watamu, Kenya. This policy covers www.eastafricasafaris.co.ke and the enquiries you send us through it. When we say “we” or “us”, we mean East Africa Safaris.

We handle your personal data in line with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.

We only collect what you choose to send us:

• Booking requests (safaris, day trips and transfers): your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the trip or route you’re interested in, your preferred date, the number of travellers, and anything you write in the message box.
• Contact messages: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, the subject, and your message.
• Calls, WhatsApp and email: whatever you share with us when you contact us directly.

Please don’t include sensitive details such as passport or payment card numbers in the forms. We never take payments through this website.

We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t set any cookies for visitors. The only cookie on this site is used to keep our own staff signed in to the admin area.

Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.

• To reply to your enquiry and answer your questions.
• To plan, quote for and arrange the trip or transfer you ask for.
• To contact you about that trip — for example to confirm details or let you know about changes.
• To keep proper business and accounting records.

We use your details because you asked us to help you plan a trip, and to take the steps needed before and during a booking. We won’t send you marketing messages unless you ask for them, and we never sell your information.

• The people who make your trip happen — lodges, camps, drivers, guides and park authorities — only the details they need, and only once you’ve asked us to go ahead.
• Our service providers, who store and run things for us: Supabase (where enquiries are stored) and Vercel (which hosts this website). They may process data on servers outside Kenya, under their own security and data-protection commitments.
• Authorities, if the law requires us to.

We keep your information only for as long as we need it to handle your enquiry or trip and to keep the business records we’re required to keep. After that, we delete it.

Enquiries are stored in a secure database that only our staff can access, through a password-protected admin area. The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask us to:

• tell you what information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
• correct anything that’s wrong or out of date;
• delete your information;
• stop using your information for a particular purpose.

To do any of these, email us at mail.eastafricasafaris@gmail.com. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) at odpc.go.ke.

This website isn’t aimed at children. If you’re booking for a family, please send the enquiry as the parent or guardian.

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
